TOPEKA, Kansas – On Monday, Kansas Governor Sam Brownback signed the first bill of the 2014 legislative session.

House Bill 2303 increases fines for DUI testing refusal and DUI violations.

The bill funds breathalyzer equipment to ensure consistent DUI convictions across the State of Kansas.

The bill also gives $726,000 for judicial branch employee (non-judge) salary increases.

By law, the Kansas governor has 10 calendar days to sign the bill into law, veto the bill or allow the bill to become law without his or her signature.
