Police identify man killed in accident on Monday

Updated: Wednesday, December 18 2013, 12:05 PM CST

WICHITA, Kansas - One man was killed and two others were seriously injured in wreck involving two motorcycles and a large truck.
It happened just before 5 p.m. Monday at Pawnee and Cooper in southeast Wichita.
According to Wichita police, both motorcycles were at the stoplight at Pawnee and Webb.
They took off west on Pawnee driving at a high rate of speed.
When both came up to the truck, one motorcycle swerved causing the second motorcycle to hit a curb.
Police say the driver of one of those motorcycles, 28-year-old Jeremy D. Emerson, died at the scene.
A 25-year-old man and a 13-year-old girl were on the motorcycle that hit the curb.
They went to Wesley in critical condition.
"We are still conducting the investigation on the cause," said Capt. Brent Allred, Wichita Police Department. "We believe the motorcycle riders were driving too fast, and they came up on the vehicle very quickly which caused the accident."
Police say they interviewed at least eight witnesses and are working to determine if any charges will be filed in the case.
