WaKeeney school board president facing drug charges

WAKEENEY, Kansas - The president of the WaKeeney school board is now facing drug-related charges.

John Reeder was arrested and booked into jail for marijuana possession with the intent to distribute on Thursday.

He is charged with possession of marijuana, criminal use of a firearm and two counts of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school.

A Trego County jail staffer says that Reeder remains in custody. No attorney is listed for him in jail records.

Superintendent George Griffith says there is no statement from the school district at this time.
