Authorities investigating officer-involved shooting in Salina

Authorities in Salina, KS are investigating an officer-involved shooting. The shooting happened Wednesday morning in the 2000 block of Harold Avenue.

Officials say they were doing a welfare check when they saw blood in front of the house. They went in and found a woman who had recently died. In the basement, they found a man armed with a knife, and after a brief confrontation, he was shot by two Salina police officers. He died shortly after at a nearby hospital.
