The pumps in Derby will not be turned on.

The Sedgwick County Commissioners voted against turning the pumps on that in the past have lowered the water table and could help flooding for hundreds of residents.

In Wednesday's Sedgwick County Commission meeting, Michael O'Donnell requested the City of Derby turn on one pump to relieve flooding for many residents. But, after several motions for amendments, the commissioners voted it down.

FOX Kansas News at 9 reporter Krystle Sherrell spoke with commissioners and residents of Derby's Hancock Acres community. You can see her report in the video posted above.
