The demand for electricity during these extreme temperatures is so high, Evergy began rolling blackouts, or power interruptions, on Monday for about 30-minutes to one hour for 60,000 of its customers.
According to Evergy, those intermittent outages will resume today due to regional power supply needs as directed by Southwest Power Pool.
