Details continue to unfold in shooting of Rice County Sheriff, Undersheriff

We continue to follow Monday night's shooting of two law enforcement officers, the sheriff and undersheriff of Rice County.

The suspect, David Madden, is dead. So is his father. The first shooting was in Sterling on Monday night. Authorities were asked what may have led to these shootings. They believe he was trying to avoid being arrested from outstanding warrants placed on him.

The suspect retrieved more guns from his home in Alden where the Kansas Bureau of Investigation says a woman, who was in the car with Madden when the undersheriff was shot, drove him to his father's home in Raymond.

Investigators say that's where he killed his dad, Thomas Madden, before eventually killing himself.
