Frigid temps help firefighters practice water rescues

This time of year, rescue workers have to risk their lives to save people and pets who fall through the ice on a pond or river.

They are taking advantage of this cold snap to train. While most people stay inside during the extreme cold, rescue crews use it for training purposes.

FOX Kansas News reporter Eli Higgins went on a training session with the Wichita Fire Department and has the story in the video posted above.
