A U.S. Army soldier based out of Fort Riley is accused of sending vehicle and cell phone bomb making instructions over social media.
Twenty-four year old Pvt. Jarrett Smith is charged with one count of distributing information related to explosives and weapons of mass destruction.
According to court documents, he suggested a major U.S. news network headquarters would be a good target for a vehicle bomb and specifically named 2020 Democratic candidate Beto O'Rourke as a good target for an attack.
If convicted, Smith could face up to 20-years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
