FOX Kansas News had a chance to catch up with Nick Hague live from space.
Hague is an astronaut and a Kansas native who talked to us while he was orbiting Earth in the International Space Station.
He says it took him ten-years and three attempts to be chosen for NASA's astronaut training, and his first launch last year had to abort because of a rocket malfunction.
He says his upbringing in Hoxie prepared him for when he finally got to go to space.
You can hear part of our interview in the video posted above.
