Proposed state bill aimed at preventing childbirth deaths

92% of Kansas mothers who died in childbirth had at least one chance to be saved. That same study showed of the mothers who died, about 2/3 were African-American, Latino, or other women of color.

That's from a new state report which is why advocates say it's time for state lawmakers to step in and do something.
