After decades of talk, the city of Salina finally passed the Smoky Hill River Renewal Project.

The multi-phased project will include an urbanized plaza downtown, 6.8-miles of recreational trails throughout the city, various locations to kayak, fish, or hike, and flowing water in the river.

The project is estimated to cost around $100-million over the next couple of decades.
