Sedgwick County Zoo is playing it safe for both animals and staff

A Topeka zookeeper remains hospitalized after a tiger attack last week.

Just like the Topeka Zoo & Conservation Center, the Sedgwick County Zoo is home to many dangerous animals like lions, tigers, and bears. With that, comes safety measure policies, many handed down from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

FOX Kansas News at 9 anchor, Carly Willis, visited with the Sedgwick County Zoo's Deputy Director, Ryan Gulkey, to see what precautions and safeguards exist to keep both staff and animals safe. You can see the full story in the video above.
