Shocker Athletics introduces new head baseball coach

On Tuesday, friends, family, and Shocker faithful packed the Marcus Welcome Center on the campus of Wichita State University where Eric Wedge was introduced as the new head coach for the Shocker Baseball team.

Wedge is no stranger to the program, either. We all remember the iconic shot from the 1989 College World Series of Wedge catching the final pitch from his teammate Greg Brummett and helping carry his team to a victory. That is something that resonates with fans when they think of the Shocker Baseball program.

Wedge comes into the program with ten-years in the major league as a manager under his belt. When he spoke to the public, he shared that he is excited to part of the program.

You can hear from Coach Wedge as he spoke to the crowd in attendance for the introduction by watching the video above.
