It's the daily grind for those who drive through Wichita...traffic at Kellogg and I-135.

City leaders have expressed concern that the interchange is reaching its capacity of 100,000 cars per day, and that number is expected to continue to grow. They expect there to be 125,000 cars a day by the year 2040.

City leaders recommended that the Kansas Department of Transportation consider it as one of its future projects. The city says the next step would be for KDOT to consider a study to evaluate. KDOT officials say they are hearing all concerns right now but they won't make an immediate decision.

Hear comments about the proposed project from City Engineer Gary Janzen in the video posted above.
