Wichita School Board votes to delay school start until after Labor Day

The Wichita School Board voted to delay the start of school until after Labor Day, and parents will get a say in what their child's school year looks like, be it in person, remotely, or through a virtual academy.

As for the official start date, the board asked the calendar committee to bring back options for it to vote on at its next meeting on July 30th. That leaves the committee seven days to come up with options for the school board when they would normally have months to solidify the school calendar.

FOX Kansas News reporter Eli Higgins explains the details in the video posted above.
