The public got their first look at the Riverfront Legacy Masterplan on Wednesday night.

Hundreds of people packed into the Wichita Boathouse to meet the group behind the plan to connect the east and west banks of the river.

The plan encompasses an area from Kellogg to Douglas where decisions will be made on Century II and all of the east bank of the Arkansas River. Several groups have been working on the proposal and they showed off ideas from other cities like Cincinnati, Ohio and Chattanooga, Tennessee that have done the same process of re-working their riverfront areas.

FOX Kansas News at 9 reporter Tiffany Lane spoke with community members at the meeting and shares this report posted above.
