An icon that is part of the Wichita skyline is celebrating a milestone.

Century II is half a century old. Built to commemorate Wichita's centennial in 1970, the city opened the building's doors in 1969.

The nearly $13-million building was designed by John Hickman, an apprentice of Frank Lloyd Wright, and it's been a source of pride for Wichita ever since.
