Day care license suspended after baby is injured

GREAT BEND, Kansas - The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has issued an Emergency Order of Suspension to a day care home operated by Rhonda Weingrad on October 17th.
 
On August 19th, an 8-month-old infant was transported to the emergency room.
 
The infant was lethargic and suffered a non-accidental brain injury.
 
According to KDHE, doctors said that the infant's brain injury occurred August 19th while in care of the licensee.
 
The licensee has the right to request a hearing before the state.
