Wichita has driest start to year since 1936

WICHITA, Kansas - The National Weather Service says Wichita has had it driest start to the year since 1936.

Through April 28th, Wichita received 1.99 inches, and in 1936, the city received only 1.54 inches at this time.

Through April 28th, Wichita is 5.08 inches below the annual average of 7.07 inches.

So far, we've received only 28 percent of our normal rainfall.
