Rose Hill home heavily damaged in morning fire

ROSE HILL, Kansas - A home in Rose Hill was badly damaged by a morning fire.

Crews were called to the 300 block of East Waller around 9 a.m.

When they arrived, the wind spread the blaze to other parts of the home.

Firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to other homes.

Sedgwick County and Andover fire crews helped Bulter County crews get the blaze knocked down.

The garage is totally destroyed. The house is still standing. Theres a lot of damage in the attic. The back bedroom closest to where the fire is out is just destroyed. There was a lot of heat and smoke throughout the house, said James Woydziak, Butler County Fire Department.

Several people and two dogs did get out.
