Police: Teens stop drunk driver

WICHITA, Kansas - Wichita police say a group of teen boys helped stop a 25-year-old drunk driver.

It happened around 12:45 a.m. Sunday.

A 17-year-old man found a woman passed out behind a wheel at an intersection near 21st and I-135. She woke up and sped off.

She stopped again on the southbound ramp off of I-135 and 21st Street. The 17-year-old approached her again.

She passed out.

Police say they were able to put the car in park and take the keys out of the ignition.

Another 19-year-old man in the car called police.

Police arrived and arrested the 25-year-old woman for DUI.

Police commended the teens for reporting the incident and doing their best to help driver, and protect other drivers on the road.
